Horror familiar : sangue, vampiros e o fazer-família em quando chega a escuridão

Abstract

Pensando o cinema enquanto uma tecnologia que produz realidade social, e assim cria através de suas obras fílmicas objetos de grande potência para o estudo antropológico, esta monografia visa analisar as formas que as famílias são tanto representadas quanto produzidas no cinema de horror. Para isso irei analisar o filme Quando Chega a Escuridão a fim de perceber de que formas esses parentescos são dispostos em cena, e quais formas se produzem a partir dessa realidade. A família vampírica da obra, articula diversas formas de fazer e produzir família, que expandem o entendimento do parentesco para além da questão biológica permitindo diversas formas de família existirem e ser reconhecidas. Esse filme nos provê debates sobre quais as matérias que os vampiros usam para fazer e desfazer parentesco e modelos de família entrelaçados em diversos modos, substâncias e sobre como o monstruoso e o outro podem se confundir no reflexo do espelho. Este trabalho analítico será realizado a partir de uma etnografia fílmica analisando esta obra que carrega e pauta as famílias como parte integral da sua essência.

Thinking of cinema as a technology that produces social reality, and thus creates, through its films, objects of great power for anthropological study. this paper aims to analyze the ways in which families are both represented and produced in horror cinema. For this, I will analyze the film Near Dark in order to understand in what ways these kinships are displayed on the scene, and what ways they produce that reality. This vampiric family in the work articulates different ways of making and producing family, which expand the understanding of kinship beyond the biological, allowing different forms of family to exist and be recognized. This film provides us with debates about what these vampires use to make and break kinship and family models intertwined in different ways, substances and about how the monstrous and the other can confuse itself in the reflection of the mirror. Thus, the analytical work will be developed through filmic ethnography, analyzing this film that carries and guides families as an integral part of its essence.
