Criação caseira de galinhas ornamentais

Abstract

A criação de galinhas em sistemas caseiros, também chamados de fundo de quintal, é uma prática cultural há muito conhecida e pode vir a ser um complemento de renda para a agricultura familiar através da venda de aves e ovos. O objetivo desse trabalho é apresentar uma discussão comentada e referenciada do projeto piloto de criação caseira de galinhas ornamentais desenvolvido pela discente, com enfoque nas raças criadas, instalações, manejos alimentar e sanitário, além de aspectos de mercado como a venda de aves e ovos férteis. Dessa forma, associou-se a aplicação de conhecimentos obtidos na literatura com os resultados observados no sistema desenvolvido pela discente sobre sua criação caseira de galinhas ornamentais. Na criação ornamental, preconiza-se a criação de diversas raças a fim de oferecer maior variedade ao mercado consumidor. Para isto, buscou-se um sistema em que as aves do plantel fossem separadas por raça, que atendesse às necessidades básicas das aves, cujos aviários fossem de fácil construção, que possibilitasse acesso das aves ao pasto e cujo investimento inicial fosse de baixo custo. Para tanto, optou-se pela construção de aviários móveis, de estrutura retangular com dimensões de 0,75m de altura, 1m de largura e 2,5m de comprimento para alojar de 3 a 4 aves. O plantel é composto por raças como Ayam Cemani, Polonesa Barrada e Preta do Topete Branco, Polonesa Camurça, Ko Shamo e Barbu d'uccle, todos já em idade de reprodução, além de algumas aves em crescimento. A nutrição das aves incluiu ração feita na propriedade a base de milho, soja e núcleos minerais e vitamínicos, além de frutas e verduras. Vacinações, dosificações com vermífugos e limpeza das instalações e equipamentos consistiram no programa sanitário. Após essas considerações, acredita-se que os aviários móveis possam ser uma opção para criação, porém devido às condições do clima do Rio Grande do Sul, esses precisam ser construídos e instalados para suportar as intempéries climáticas.

Chicken farming in home systems, also called backyard, is a long-known cultural practice and can become an income supplement for family farming through the sale of birds and eggs. Taking this into account, the objective of this work is to present a commented and referenced discussion of the pilot project for homemade breeding of ornamental chickens developed by the student, with a focus on the breeds raised, the facilities, food management, sanitary management and the market as the sale of poultry and fértil eggs. In this way, it is possible to associate the application of knowledge obtained in the literature with results observed in the system developed by the student about their homemade breeding of ornamental chickens. In ornamental breeding, the creation of several breeds is recommended in order to offer greater variety to the consumer market. For this, a system was sought in which the birds of the flock were separated by breed, that met the basic needs of the birds, the facility for building the enclosure, that the birds had access to the pasture and that the initial investment was low cost, as this is the first experience with raising chickens. To this end, we opted for the construction of 6 mobile aviaries, with a rectangular structure with the following dimensions 0.75m high, 1m wide and 2.5m long to house 3 to 4 birds. The breeding stock is made upo f breeds such as Ayam Cemani, Cuckoo Polish, White Crested Black Polish, Ko Shamo and Barbu d’uccle, all of which are of reproductive age, in addition to some growing birds. Poultry nutrition consists of feed made on the property based on corn, soy and nucleus, in addition to fruits and vegetables. The basic health program included vaccination, deworming and cleaning of facilities and equipment. After these considerations, it is believed that mobile aviaries can be an option for breeding, however due to the climate conditions in Rio Grande do Sul, they need to be well designed to withstand weather conditions.
