O desenvolvimento econômico e o papel da industrialização na superação do subdesenvolvimento : a ótica de Celso Furtado

Abstract

Esse trabalho é uma investigação do conceito de desenvolvimento econômico na teoria de Celso Furtado, bem como o papel dado pelo autor à industrialização na alteração das estruturas das economias subdesenvolvida, resultando promoção do desenvolvimento. Da mesma forma, são investigadas as causas que Furtado julga responsáveis pelo fato de a industrialização não ter sido suficiente ao alcance do desenvolvimento das regiões periféricas, apesar dos inegáveis progressos que trouxe.

The following research intents to explore the definition of economic development in Celso Furtado´s theory, as well as the role industrialization plays on changing the underdeveloped structures of peripheral economies, leading them to the development according to the mentioned author. Finally, it tries to explain the main causes appointed by Furtado as responsible by the failing – despite the great progress it brought to these regions – of the peripheral industrialization on creating the conditions that would have allowed them to reach economic development.
