Tradição, transformação e renovação na literatura sul-rio-grandense de fronteiras

Abstract

This paper analyses the modifications occurred in the regional frontier literature of Rio Grande do Sul through the works of emblematic writers of the twentieth century: Alcides Maya, Cyro Martins and Sérgio Faraco. With the support of existent files and documents, we intend to examine the motivation of the writers as far as the regional is concerned; the relation between the creative impulse and the reception ofthe works by the discursive community; the thematic recurrence and the substitution of paradigms that assure the permanence of the regional frontier literature, as a wish for the preservation of the local identity.
