O intérprete-atuador na construção de um espetáculo bilíngue

Abstract

A proposição de uma nova forma de enxergar a língua de sinais em um espetáculo teatral parece poder trazer à tona questões muito além das tradutórias e linguísticas. Este trabalho de conclusão de curso faz uma reflexão sobre a construção de um espetáculo bilíngue colocando em cena duas línguas em um mesmo patamar de igualdade linguística. O objetivo foi propiciar esta reflexão tendo como princípios basilares aspectos artísticos cênicos, linguísticos e tradutórios. Para isso, montou-se e encenou-se o espetáculo bilíngue “O Tempo que Temos”. O resultado foi o entendimento de que propostas de montagem cênicas como esta são possíveis não apenas porque trazem à cena teatral uma nova oferta artística, mas porque dão um valor linguístico (especialmente para a língua de sinais) e colocam as línguas em um patamar de igualdade. Experiências e pesquisas como esta ainda são escassas no Brasil. Portanto, sugere-se a importância da realização de mais iniciativas como esta a fim de oferecer ao espectador surdo uma nova realidade de tradução aliada a melhor fruição de uma obra teatral.

The proposition of a new way of seeing sign language in a play seems to be able to raise questions far beyond translational and linguistic ones. This research reflects on the construction of a bilingual play putting two languages on the same level of linguistic equality. The objective was this reflection based on scenic, linguistic and translational artistic aspects. To this end, the bilingual show “O Tempo que Temos” was set up and staged. The result has been the understanding that scenic montage proposals such as this are possible not only because they bring a new artistic offering to the theatrical scene, but because they give linguistic value (especially to sign language) and place languages on an equal footing. Experiences and research like this are still scarce in Brazil. Therefore, it is suggested the importance of undertaking more initiatives like this one in order to offer the deaf viewer a new reality of translation combined with the best enjoyment of a theatrical work.
