Mercado teatral, formação e carreira : estratégias para viver de teatro em Porto Alegre (2010-2020)

Abstract

Esta pesquisa busca compreender as condições de trabalho e formação de jovens profissionais de teatro desde sua inserção profissional, isto é, o processo de entrada destes indivíduos no mercado de trabalho. Para isso, recorremos a uma análise de fontes teóricas multidisciplinares, documentos e uma pesquisa quanti-qualitativa realizada pelo autor em 2021 com 157 destes profissionais em Porto Alegre. O estudo não faz uma distinção entre as várias profissões teatrais, uma vez que os artistas contemporâneos costumam desempenhar múltiplos ofícios para viver do seu trabalho artístico. O foco está na década de 2010, um período de contrastes em relação às políticas culturais no Brasil e na cidade de Porto Alegre, uma capital fora do principal eixo econômico do teatro nacional. Após avaliar o impacto das dinâmicas exploratórias do capitalismo sobre as artes cênicas, exploramos como este assunto é tratado na formação de artistas e buscamos estratégias e soluções possíveis para enfrentar esta precarização do trabalho no teatro. Visamos um mapeamento das atuais condições do mercado teatral de Porto Alegre, de modo a oferecer um maior entendimento da realidade material aos artistas locais e uma base teórica para analisar estes processos no ensino profissionalizante de artes cênicas, considerando que esse diálogo é ainda incipiente e preterido pelas discussões estéticas na maioria das instituições formativas.

This research seeks to understand the working and training conditions of young theater professionals from their professional insertion, that is, the process of entry of these individuals into the labor market. For this, we resort to an analysis of multidisciplinary theoretical sources, documents and a quantitative-qualitative research carried out by the author in 2021 with 157 of these professionals in Porto Alegre. The study does not distinguish between the various theatrical professions, since contemporary artists tend to perform multiple trades to make a living from their artistic work. The focus is on the 2010s, a decade of contrasts in relation to cultural policies in Brazil and in the city of Porto Alegre, a capital outside the main economic axis of the national theater. After evaluating the impact of capitalism's exploratory dynamics on the performing arts, we explore how this issue is treated in the training of young artists and look for possible strategies and solutions to face this precarity of work in the theater. We aim to map the current conditions of the theater market in Porto Alegre, in order to offer a greater understanding of the material reality to local artists and a theoretical basis to analyze these processes in the professional training of performing arts, considering that this dialogue is still incipient and overlooked in favor of aesthetic discussions in most formative institutions.
