Reflexões sobre racismo e áreas da saúde : análise de lives realizadas por profissionais da saúde no youtube

Abstract

O racismo é um fenômeno histórico que estrutura e organiza o mundo, tendo consequências severas na saúde da população negra há séculos. Durante o período da pandemia, ocasionado pelo coronavírus, as iniquidades raciais ficaram em evidência. O isolamento social, uma das principais medidas adotadas pela Organização Mundial da Saúde (OMS) para contenção do vírus, aumentou orgânica e significativamente os acessos ao universo digital, um dos fenômenos deste período foram as lives nas plataformas digitais. Nesse contexto, essa pesquisa tem como objetivo analisar os debates sobre racismo realizados pelas áreas da saúde em lives realizadas no YouTube no período de maio a setembro de 2020. A coleta desses vídeos foi feita a partir de um levantamento com três descritores: racismo, live e área da saúde (o nome de uma área da saúde por vez); após, foram selecionadas as lives que se encaixavam nos critérios de inclusão e exclusão e todas foram transcritas para, por fim, serem analisadas. Foram encontradas 10 lives das 14 áreas da saúde. A Psicologia foi a área que mais realizou lives, sendo 6 no total. A Educação Física, a Fonoaudiologia, a Odontologia e o Serviço Social apresentaram apenas 1 live cada. A Biologia, a Biomedicina, a Enfermagem, a Farmácia, a Fisioterapia, a Medicina, a Medicina Veterinária, a Nutrição e a Terapia Ocupacional não apresentaram nenhum resultado. Após a análise das lives, verificou-se que os assuntos mais debatidos foram: falta de representatividade das pessoas negras em espaços institucionais, cotas raciais e a possibilidade de aquilombamento, a necessidade da branquitude na luta antirracista, o protagonismo das pessoas negras em diversos ambientes.

Racism as a historical phenomenon that structures and organizes the world has had severe consequences on the health of the black population for centuries. During the pandemic period, caused by the novel coronavirus, racial inequities were evidenced. Social isolation, one of the main measures adopted by the World Health Organization (WHO) to contain the virus, naturally and significantly increased access to the digital universe and one of the phenomena of this period was the boom of live streams on digital platforms. In that regard, this research aims to analyze the debate about racism carried out by different health areas in the period from May to September of 2020 on YouTube live streams. The gathering of live streams was composed from a search with three descriptors: racismo (racism), live (live stream) and saúde (health); afterwards, those that fit the inclusion and exclusion criteria were selected and transcribed so that they could be analyzed. Ten live streams were found in 14 possible health areas. Psychology was the area that most performed live streams, with six in total. Physical Education, Speech-Language Pathology/Audiology, Dentistry and Social Work presented only one live each. Biology, Biomedicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Nutrition and Occupational Therapy did not perform any live streams within the analyzed period. Five live streams were analyzed, one of each health area . The most debated subjects were lack of representation of black people in institutional spaces, racial quotas and the possibility of aquilombamento (empowering of black people through the formation of groups), the need for whiteness in the anti-racist struggle, and the role of black people in different environments. This result demonstrates how precarious the anti-racist debate is in the areas of health.
