As membranas de carbono são materiais capazes de realizar separações de misturas a nível atômico, através da diferença de diâmetros moleculares, o que as tornam bastante úteis para a separação de misturas gasosas. Esta capacidade se deve à dimensão dos seus poros que pode ser até mesmo menor que 0,6 nm. O objetivo deste trabalho é predizer as propriedades de transporte de massa de modelos atomísticos de membranas de carbono derivadas de poliéterimida, utilizando simulações de dinâmica molecular. As trajetórias moleculares dos diferentes gases testados também foi analisada ao longo do tempo de simulação. As curvas do coeficiente de difusividade de transporte, corrigida e autodifusividade seguiram a tendência dos resultados obtidos na literatura, indicando que os modelos atomísticos propostos, descrevem, satisfatoriamente, as características estruturais desse material. As curvas de seletividade plotadas mostraram que tais modelos são capazes de predizer a separação de misturas gasosas. ...
