Abstract in Portuguese (Brasil)

The orthopedic injuries in small animals are common occurrences in routine veterinary. Practice regardless IF the fractures were close dor exposed, to fix its focus requires specifc knowledge that allows choosing the most appropriate treatment. At presente, cerclage, ecternal skeletal fixation, intramedullary pins, bone plate and screws have been the most widely used in open surgical techhniques in veterinary medicine. In this context, the minimally invasive osteosynthesis with plate fixation technique appears to cause less damage to soft tissues, provides reduction in surgical time, decreases contamination during and after surgery and also provides early recovery of limb function. The objective of this work is to report a case of femoral osteosynthesis in a domestic feline. ...
