Uma avaliação estética de projetos de Oscar Niemeyer

Abstract

Este estudo tem como objetivo a avaliação individual e a identificação das preferências e justificativas em relação a seis projetos de Oscar Niemeyer, laureado com o Prêmio Pritzker de Arquitetura em 1988, por parte de pessoas com diferentes níveis e tipos de formação educacional. Os dados foram coletados através de questionário respondido por 65 arquitetos, 134 não arquitetos com curso universitário e 21 pessoas sem conclusão e nem início de curso universitário, através do programa LimeSurvey disponibilizado via internet, após contato via email incluindo carta convite com explicações sobre a pesquisa e o acesso e uso do programa. Para a análise dos dados foram utilizados os testes estatísticos não paramétricos Kendall's W e Kruskal-Wallis no programa PASW Statistics. Os resultados evidenciam, por exemplo, a relevância das ideias de ordem e estímulo visual e, logo, da estética formal. As diferenças entre as preferências pelos três grupos se justificam pela maior valorização da existência de ordem pelos arquitetos e da maior apreciação do estímulo visual principalmente por aqueles sem formação universitária. Este estudo traz contribuições para a estética das edificações, especificamente, para reforçar a importância da estética formal, da presença das ideias de ordem e estímulo visual nos projetos das edificações.

This study aims at the individual assessment and identification of preferences and justifications in relation to six projects by Oscar Niemeyer, awarded the Pritzker Prize for Architecture in 1988, by people with different levels and types of college education. Data were collected through a questionnaire answered by 65 architects, 134 non-architects college graduates and 21 non-college graduates, through the LimeSurvey program available via internet, after contact via email including an invitation letter with explanations about the research and the access and the use of the program. For data analysis, the non-parametric Kendall's W and Kruskal-Wallis statistical tests were used in the PASW Statistics program. The results show, for example, the relevance of ideas of order and visual stimulus and, therefore, of formal aesthetics. The differences between the preferences by the three groups are justified by the greater valorization of the existence of order by architects and the greater appreciation of the visual stimulus especially by non-college graduates. This study makes contributions to the aesthetics of buildings, specifically, to reinforce the importance of formal aesthetics, the presence of ideas of order and visual stimulation in building projects.
