O site-specific na perspectiva da direção teatral

Abstract

Esta tese investiga o processo criativo da direção teatral nos espetáculos produzidos sob o conceito de site-specific. As reflexões aqui tratadas são resultantes do comportamento criativo de três jovens encenadores brasileiros, Anderson Maurício, Diego Pinheiro e Thiago Romero. A tese apresenta o estudo de caso de cada um dos diretores, que juntos, oferecem um repertório para problematizarmos os procedimentos que orientaram suas encenações. Em diálogo com os referenciais teóricos canônicos que subsidiam o estudo do espaço teatral, esta tese se interroga sobre a noção de site-specific em relação com a encenação contemporânea. Sitespecific é aqui contrastado com a definição de espaço cênico e lugar teatral. Esta investigação compreende a prática do site-specific como articulação do trabalho teatral, ao apontar para questões tanto estéticas quanto sociais, políticas, econômicas e identitárias. Com esta tese, o autor pretende contribuir para a ampliação dos estudos sobre o tema, assinalando as perspectivas que mediam os fundamentos da direção teatral em site-specific.

This thesis investigates the creative process of the theatrical direction in the plays produced under the site-specific concept. The reflections discussed here are the result of the creative behavior of three young Brazilian directors, Anderson Maurício, Diego Pinheiro and Thiago Romero. The thesis presents the case study of each of the directors, who together offer a repertoire to problematize the procedures that guided their staging. In dialogue with the canonical theoretical references that subsidize this study of the theatrical space, this thesis questions the notion of sitespecific in relation to contemporary staging. Site-specific is here contrasted with the definition of scenic space and theatrical place. This investigation includes the practice of site-specific as an articulation of the theatrical work, by pointing out aesthetic as well as social, political, economic and identity issues. With this thesis, the author intends to contribute to the expansion of the studies on the theme, highlighting out the perspectives that mediate the foundations of site-specific theatrical direction.
