O artigo discute a relação mantida entre os historiadores e seus públicos a partir da consideração do ato de leitura da história como paradigma da recepção da história. Inicia com a discussão teórica do conceito de regimes historiográficos, considerando-o válido para se estudar a recepção dos textos e demais obras elaboradas pelos historiadores. Em seguida, a noção de operação historiográfica de Michel de Certeau é problematizada, uma vez que desconsidera o papel constitutivo da recepção da história na definição da legitimidade do conhecimento histórico. Finalmente, sugere-se que o pleno entendimento do lugar social e epistemológico ocupado pela historiografia e pelos historiadores e historiadoras no espaço público deve compreender as formas como a história é recebida, e, portanto, apropriada, em diferentes regimes historiográficos. ...
Abstract
The article discusses the relationship between historians and their audience from the perspective of the act of reading of history as a paradigm of the reception of history. It begins with a theoretical discussion of the concept of historiographical regimes, considering it a valid tool to study the reception of texts and other works elaborated by historians. The article discusses the relationship between historians and their audience from the perspective of the act of reading of history as a paradigm of the reception of history. It begins with a theoretical discussion of the concept of historiographical regimes, considering it a valid tool to study the reception of texts and other works elaborated by historians. Then, Michel de Certeau’s notion of historiographical operation is criticized since it disregards the constitutive role of the reception of history in the definition of the legitimacy of historical knowledge. Finally, it suggests that the full understanding of the social and epistemic role of historiography and historians in the public space passes through the comprehension of the forms by which history is received, and therefore appropriated, in different historiographical regimes. ...
