Fatta l’Italia, bisogna fare l’italiano : Carlo Lorenzini, pseudônimo Collodi : patriotismo, humor e desencanto

Abstract

A presente tese é constituída por dois diferentes movimentos. Em primeiro plano está a apresentação e a discussão do tema, que é o corpo da tese propriamente dito. Trata-se do exame da trajetória intelectual do escritor e jornalista italiano Carlo Collodi, mantendo o contexto histórico e cultural da Itália como pano de fundo e adotando como fio condutor o processo de formação da nação e do próprio cidadão italiano orientado a partir do projeto educacional preconizado pelo Ressurgimento, o processo de unificação da península itálica que se concretizou em 1871. O primeiro capítulo é panorâmico e explora tanto o campo da literatura para infância, desde seus primórdios, passando pela formação do gênero na Itália e pelo desenvolvimento do setor editorial voltado ao público infantil, quanto o contexto histórico e cultural italiano, dos antecedentes do Ressurgimento, passando pelo processo unitário, com a passagem da capital do reino por Florença, e pelas ações em favor da formação da nação e da educação, enfatizando a figura do também jornalista e escritor Edmondo De Amicis. O segundo capítulo é dedicado exclusivamente ao escritor Carlo Collodi, constituindo um espaço no qual, além de sua trajetória, serão recuperadas informações sobre a produção para infância de cunho didático e sobre sua obra maior, Pinóquio. O segundo movimento é apresentado no Anexo e traz uma sugestão de tradução da obra Giannettino, do mesmo Carlo Collodi, publicada em 1877.

The present thesis is composed by two different movements. In the foreground there is the presentation and discussion of the theme, which is the thesis’ body itself. It is about the assessment of the intellectual trajectory of the Italian writer and journalist Carlo Collodi, keeping Italy’s historical and cultural context as background and adopting as a conducting wire the process of formation of the nation and of the Italian citizen oriented by the educational project recommended by the Risorgimento, the unification process of the Italian peninsula that took place in 1871. The first chapter is panoramic and explores both the children’s literature field, since its beginning, exploring the genre formation in Italy and the development of the editorial sector focused on children, and the Italian historical and cultural context, starting in the antecedents of the Risorgimento, exploring the Unitarian process, with the passage of the kingdom’s capital by Florence, and the actions in favor of the nation and education formations, emphasizing the figure of another journalist and writer, Edmondo De Amicis. The second chapter is dedicated exclusively to the writer Carlo Collodi, approaching and analyzing not only his trajectory, but also recovered information on the didactic-natured production focused on children and on his most famous work, Pinocchio. The second movement is presented in the Attachment and brings a suggestion of translation for the book Giannettino, by the same author, published in 1877.
