dc.description.abstract | O trabalho trata das representações femininas no reality show estadunidense Keeping Up With the Kardashians levando em consideração o prisma teórico do pós-feminismo. | pt_BR |
dc.description.abstract | The paper studies women's representations in the reality show Keeping Up With the Kardashians, taking into account the theoretical view of post-feminism. As a main objective, the research aims to understand how the concepts of post-feminism, and other related key concepts, are demonstrated in Keeping Up With the Kardashians. First, there is the understanding of the concept of reality show, with its main characteristics and differentiations of this television gender. The study brings authors as Morin (2002) and Kellner (2001) to the discussion that involves the culture of the media and the influence of the mediatic characters in the composition of an individual who has as ideal what is represented in these media. The conceptualizations with respect to the term post-feminism are established, from the different views of authors like Gill and Scharff (2011) and Faludi (1992). The analytical discussion of the elected episodes for the corpus is made from a content analysis, a method discussed by Bardin (1977). It is concluded from the exploration of the material and analysis that some of the characteristics of the women presented in the reality show studied had a post-feminist representation, by showing complex relations that sometimes contradict feminist ideals and, in other moments, support the diffusion of the same movement. | en |
