A relação entre a saúde financeira e o desempenho esportivo dos clubes de futebol profissional brasileiros

Abstract

O propósito central dos clubes de futebol é vencer as competições que participam; porém, é preciso relacionar o desempenho dentro do campo com indicadores mais consistentes, a fim de poder auxiliar a trajetória em busca dos objetivos. Nesse contexto, este estudo tem com objetivo principal verificar qual a relação entre a saúde financeira e o desempenho esportivo dos clubes de futebol profissional brasileiro. A pesquisa é classificada, conforme a literatura, como sendo de caráter quantitativo, descritivo, elaborada por meio de pesquisa documental. A amostra utilizada no estudo foi composta pelos 15 clubes brasileiros com maior pontuação no Ranking da CBF de 2019. Foram levantados os indicadores econômico-financeiros através das demonstrações contábeis dos referidos clubes, no período de 2015 a 2018. Para a análise das variáveis encontradas, foi utilizado um modelo de Equações de Estimativa Generalizada (GEE). Os modelos de GEE indicaram que a relação referente ao desempenho econômicofinanceiro, no que se refere ao Endividamento Geral, à Liquidez Corrente e à Rentabilidade do Patrimônio Líquido, sugere que o clube de futebol possa ter um bom desempenho esportivo.

The central purpose of the football clubs is to win the competitions they participate in, but it is necessary to relate the performance within the field with more consistent indicators in order to be able to help the trajectory in search of the objectives. In this context, this study has the main objective to verify the relationship between the financial health and the sporting performance of Brazilian professional football clubs. The research is classified, according to the literature, as being of quantitative, descriptive character, elaborated through documentary research. The sample used in the study was composed of the 15 Brazilian clubs with the highest score in the CBF Ranking of 2019. The economic-financial indicators were collected through the financial statements of the aforementioned clubs from 2015 to 2018. For the analysis of the variables found, model of Generalized Estimating Equations (GEE) was used. The GHG models indicated that the relationship between economic and financial performance, with respect to General Indebtedness, Current Liquidity and Return on Shareholders' Equity, suggests that the football club can perform well.
