Reabilitação de pacientes com ressecção parcial de mandíbula : uma revisão de literatura

Abstract

A mandíbula é o único osso móvel da face que participa de funções básicas, como mastigação, fonação e deglutição, além de participar da manutenção da oclusão dentária. Sabe-se que a área da reconstrução mandibular tem evoluído consideravelmente nos últimos anos, no entanto, continua a ser um grande desafio para o cirurgião bucomaxilofacial. Há na literatura vários métodos de reconstrução da mandíbula, os quais podem acontecer através do enxerto ósseo convencional ou ósseo vascularizado, recorrendo aos materiais aloplásticos. Dessa forma, o presente estudo tem como propósito analisar os diferentes tipos de reabilitação de pacientes que realizaram uma ressecção parcial de mandíbula. Os instrumentos de busca utilizados foram os bancos de dados LILACS, PubMed, SCIELO.

The jaw is the only movable bone of the face that participates in basic functions, such as mastication, phonation and swallowing, besides participating in the maintenance of dental occlusion. It is known that the area of mandibular reconstruction has evolved considerably in recent years, however, it remains a major challenge for the maxillofacial surgeon. There are in the literature several methods of mandibular reconstruction, which may occur through the conventional bone or vascularized bone graft, using alloplastic materials. Thus, the present study aims to analyze the different types of rehabilitation of patients who underwent partial jaw resection. The search instruments used were the LILACS, PubMed, and SCIELO databases.
