Na Gestão de Risco as principais medidas de risco utilizadas são o VaR (Value at Risk) e a ES (Expected Shortfall), sendo recomendadas pelo Acordo de Basileia para o uso de bancos e instituições financeiras. Na Gestão de Risco as principais medidas de risco utilizadas são o VaR (Value at Risk) e a ES (Expected Shortfall), sendo recomendadas pelo Acordo de Basileia para o uso de bancos e instituições financeiras. Ambas as medidas podem ser estimadas usando diferentes abordagens, como a Simulação Histórica (HS, Historic Simulation), a Simulação Histórica Filtrada (FHS, Filtered Historic Simulation) e o GARCH (Generalized Autoregressive Conditional Heteroskedacity). Esse estudo teve o intuito de identificar, de comparar distribuições do modelo GARCH, via simulações de Monte Carlo, para prever o VaR e a ES. Adicionalmente, foi considerado a HS. A análise da performance dos modelos, para prever uma das medidas, foi realizada via funções de perda. Os resultados indicam que o melhor modelo de estimação para prever o VaR é a FHS e que para a ES os melhores resultados foram obtidos pelos modelos paramétricos. Dentre as distribuições do GARCH, a que obteve os melhores resultados foi a t-Student, tanto para o VaR quanto para a ES. ...
