Em função da crescente necessidade de produtos de baixo teor de lactose, a busca por métodos eficazes para a hidrólise da lactose pela β-galactosidase imobilizada têm sido objeto de estudo por diversos pesquisadores. Em função da crescente necessidade de produtos de baixo teor de lactose, a busca por métodos eficazes para a hidrólise da lactose pela β-galactosidase imobilizada têm sido objeto de estudo por diversos pesquisadores. Nesse contexto as membranas surgem como um suporte adequado para imobilizar a β- galactosidase, visto que possuem elevado potencial para a retenção da atividade enzimática quanto ao reuso e para a estabilidade pelo armazenamento. As vantagens do uso de membranas funcionalizadas como suporte de imobilização são apontadas pela maioria dos autores, e seus resultados demonstram a eficiência de sua aplicação. Para apontar os estudos com os melhores resultados, foi realizada uma revisão bibliográfica pela busca em bases de dados para a comparação dos sistemas aplicados em cada processo quanto à diversidade de materiais de membranas, à fonte da enzima utilizada e às condições do microambiente para a hidrólise da lactose. Os melhores resultados encontrados no presente trabalho demonstram que a retenção da atividade enzimática e a estabilidade no armazenamento ocorreram em sistemas que utilizaram as membranas de poli(2-hidroxietilmetacrilato), de nanocompósito de nanotubos de carbono de paredes múltiplas com polianilina cobalto e de membrana de polipropileno funcionalizada com hexametilenodiamina como suporte de imobilização da enzima para hidrolisar a lactose. ...
