Abstract in Portuguese (Brasil)
Abstract
Worm robot projects are mostly designed to perform repairs and maintenance on pipe surfaces. Another application for this device is the displacement of components, such as communication and power cables. The main advantage of the use of worm robots in these processes is the absence of the need for invasive procedures that could compromise the tube structure. The present work aims at designing a worm robot for locomotion in the interior of circular-profile tubes. Throughout the execution of the ...
Throughout the execution of the project, the movement analysis of the robot is performed to evaluate the load capacity of the device, as well as its restrictions on curvilinear movements. In the architecture adopted for the design the device is driven by a single electric motor. The synchronization of moving parts is performed through cams made in the body of the robot. The design of the device – stricture, parts, and components – is accomplished with the assistance of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software for tridimensional projects. ...
