| pt_BR |
dc.description.abstract | Grooving is a turning process in which the tool moves in a straight trajectory and perpendicularly to the main axis of the spindle machine, and it aims to make a circular notch on the workpiece. Vibrations caused by the interaction between the tool geometry and the shear stress may occur during the process. Consequently, these vibrations can damage machined surface finishing. Therefore, it was performed the evaluation of the cutting parameters influence on this vibration. Two cutting fluid applications (abundant and minimum quantity fluid “MQF”), two cutting speeds (vc) and three groove widths (ae) was considered in the ABNT 1045 finish facing. A feed-rate (f) was maintained fixed. The surface roughness with a portable rugosimeter, the waves on machining face via coordinate-measuring machine and the workpiece face image by a digital microscope was carried out for this study. Therefore it was aimed to verify if “ae” has significant influence on the longitudinal force variation (Fz) and the facing surface quality isolate or combined way with “vc” and cutting fluid. The results showed that the MQF method had the lowest values of the forces in relation to the cutting fluid in abundance and the increase “ae” and “vc” generate higher values of the forces. In the face finishing it was found that the cutting fluid in abundance gave slightly lower roughness values than MQF. It was also found that with ae = 2.5 mm, the MQF method produced roughness values about 3 times higher than the cutting fluid in abundance. By changing the sprinkler nozzle tilt from 90 to 45 degrees, it was observed that the spray application position influences the cutting fluid capacity directly. In this case, the forces have been reduced and significantly improved surface finishing. | en |
