Futebol de salão no Rio Grande do Sul : apontamentos históricos sobre o esporte

Abstract

O estudo tem como objetivo identificar como ocorreu o processo de desenvolvimento do futebol de salão no Rio Grande do Sul, desde as primeiras manifestações deste esporte na década de 1950 até o final da década de 1980, quando se denota o enfraquecimento da prática. A pesquisa caracteriza-se como histórico-documental, pois foi realizada uma análise de documentos além de uma revisão bibliográfica. Além disso, a investigação utilizou fontes orais, por meio da realização de quatro entrevistas com personagens do futebol de salão no Rio Grande do Sul. A revisão bibliográfica revelou duas versões para explicar a origem do futebol de salão, sendo uma atribuída ao Brasil e a outra ao Uruguai. No entanto, há mais evidências sobre a invenção deste esporte na Associação Cristã de Moços (ACM) de Montevidéu no Uruguai. A análise das informações aponta a significativa prática do futebol de salão no Rio Grande do Sul, favorecendo a organização da Federação Gaúcha de Futebol de Salão em 1956. Nas décadas seguintes se percebeu uma difusão e consolidação do esporte no estado. Entre os acontecimentos menciona-se o destaque obtido pelos treinadores, atletas, clubes e pela própria equipe que representava o Rio Grande do Sul. No ano de 1980, o estado conquistou o inédito tri campeonato consecutivo de seleções estaduais. Posteriormente, percebe-se uma oscilação na prática do futebol de salão no estado, principalmente devido a invenção de um novo esporte, o futsal, em 1989. Tal fato, todavia, não significou a extinção do futebol de salão, que até os dias atuais é praticado e possui suas competições próprias.

The study aims to identify as occurred in development of futsal in Rio Grande do Sul, from the first manifestations of this sport in the 1950s until the late 1980s, when it denotes the weakening of practice. The research is characterized as a historical document, because a document analysis was performed in addition to a literature review. Furthermore, research has used oral sources by conducting interviews with four characters indoor football in Rio Grande do Sul. The literature review revealed two versions to explain the origin of indoor football, one being assigned to Brazil and the another to Uruguay. However, there is more evidence about the invention of this sport at the Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) of Montevideo in Uruguay. The analysis of information indicates a significant practice of indoor football in Rio Grande do Sul, favoring the organization of the Federation Gaucha of indoor footbal 1956. In the following decades saw a spread and consolidation of the sport in the state. Among the events is mentioned the prominence achieved by coaches, athletes, clubs and by the team that represented the Rio Grande do Sul. In 1980, the state has won an unprecedented three consecutive state teams championship. Later, we find an oscillation in the practice of indoor football in the state, mostly due to the invention of a new sport, futsal, in 1989. This, however, did not mean the extinction of the indoor football, which until today is practiced and has its own competitions.
