Caldeiras de alta pressão operam sob condições extremas. Por esta razão, a qualidade da água utilizada para geração de vapor é de grande importância e necessita ser de elevada pureza a fim de evitar problemas com depósitos e corrosão que diminuem a vida útil de equipamentos e tubulações, prejudicam a segurança operacional e geram elevados custos de reparo e manutenção além de perda de produção por paradas não programadas. Caldeiras de alta pressão operam sob condições extremas. Por esta razão, a qualidade da água utilizada para geração de vapor é de grande importância e necessita ser de elevada pureza a fim de evitar problemas com depósitos e corrosão que diminuem a vida útil de equipamentos e tubulações, prejudicam a segurança operacional e geram elevados custos de reparo e manutenção além de perda de produção por paradas não programadas. Matéria orgânica, sais e íons dissolvidos, principalmente, são removidos por osmose inversa ou troca iônica, evitando depósitos e geração de espuma. No intuito de minimizar a ocorrência de corrosão é fundamental garantir que a quantidade de oxigênio dissolvido na água de alimentação esteja abaixo de 7,00 ppb. Este e outros gases são removidos através de desaeradores mecânicos e de sequestrantes químicos. Diversas variáveis devem ser consideradas na remoção de oxigênio dissolvido, tais como: vazão e temperatura da água de alimentação da caldeira, proporção entre condensado e água de reposição, pressão e temperatura do desaerador e dosagem de sequestrante químico de oxigênio. O objetivo deste trabalho é avaliar a eficiência do desaerador de uma planta de geração de vapor e energia de uma indústria de celulose e definir a melhor condição de operação e dosagem de produtos químicos, baseado no potencial de oxi-redução da água alimentada à caldeira, principal indicativo de corrosão no interior da caldeira, e na concentração de oxigênio dissolvido presente na água. Para alcançar o objetivo foram coletados dados de operação da planta e realizadas análises de acompanhamento. Durante o acompanhamento, a dosagem de sequestrante de oxigênio foi sendo reduzida por patamares de 0,50 ppm do residual de sequestrante de oxigênio partindo do residual médio de 2,50 ppm. A análise dos resultados indica que o desaerador opera com eficiência satisfatória. Somente foram registradas concentrações elevadas de oxigênio em situações de parada da planta. Foi possível constatar a influência da proporção de condensado na água de alimentação, propiciando que um volume maior de água de reposição, aumentando a concentração de oxigênio na água de alimentação, fosse adicionado ao sistema dificultando a remoção de oxigênio dissolvido. A dosagem de sequestrante químico de oxigênio mostrou importante papel na manutenção da condição redutora adequada para o sistema. Definiu-se que para uma condição segura de operação da planta é necessário manter um residual de segurança de 1,00 ppm de sequestrante de oxigênio a base de carbohidrazida em situações de operação normal, contínua, em estado estacionário. Em momentos de descontinuidade, é necessário utilizar uma dosagem maior, propiciando um residual mais alto, tanto quanto 3,00 ppm. Uma redução de dosagem, que garante uma diminuição do residual de 2,50 ppm para 1,00 ppm de sequestrante de oxigênio, traz uma economia da ordem de R$ 50-100 mil/ano. ...
