Isto é esparta! : a operação historiográfica na construção ficcional dos quadrinhos : os 300 de Esparta de Frank Miller

Abstract

Há certa ambiguidade na composição de uma obra de literatura ficcional que toma por base para sua intriga um fato real do passado. Tal característica traz à tona a discussão historiográfica em torno de conceitos como História, literatura e ficção. Para adicionar um capítulo ao debate, este trabalho pretende investigar os quadrinhos Os 300 de Esparta, publicado em 1998 pelo norte-americano Frank Miller. A análise da obra segue dois caminhos distintos que se cruzam: o primeiro, verificando que tipo de operação historiográfica é empreendida pelo autor ficcional na fase de pesquisa para construção do seu enredo; o segundo, compreendendo as razões para o rompimento com o paradoxo da História tão caro ao historiador. Finalmente, esta pesquisa procura encontrar um lugar para as representações ficcionais da história por meio da tese do entrecruzamento entre História e ficção de Paul Ricoeur.

There is certain ambiguity in the writing of a work of fictional literature that bases itself on a real fact of the past for its plot. This characteristic raises the historiographical discussion around concepts such as History, literature and fiction. To add a chapter to the debate, this paper intends to investigate the comic book 300, published in 1998 by the American Frank Miller. The analysis of the work follows two distinct paths that intersect: first, checking what kind of historiographical operation is undertaken by the fictional author in the research phase for the construction of his plot; second, understanding the reasons for breaking with the paradox of History so dear to the historian. Finally, this study tries to find a place for fictional representations of history through Paul Ricoeur‘s thesis of interweaving of History and fiction.
