Identidade cultural indígena: interpretações da obra Histórias de Índio

Abstract

O presente trabalho abordou a recente literatura indígena brasileira. Ao se apropriar da escrita em língua portuguesa, os indígenas brasileiros, vêm utilizando essa escrita tanto como mantenedora da memória dos grupos indígenas quanto como canal de comunicação fora dessas sociedades. Desse modo esse trabalho objetivou analisar textos do autor indígena Daniel Munduruku, incluídos na obra histórias de índio, disponíveis para a sociedade indígena e não-indígena, a fim de verificar as mensagens implícitas e explicitas nesses textos. Para tanto, foi eleita a técnica da análise de conteúdo, cuja realização ocorreu após contextualizações acerca das identidades buscando identificar a relação entre a produção da literatura indígena, a leitura e a formação e reformulação de identidades culturais próprias. Com a análise de conteúdo concluiu-se que manifestações acerca de conflitos de identidade pessoal e cultural se materializam na literatura indígena convergindo para uma relação de hibridismo cultural, pois se constituem em combinações entre o estereótipo, manutenção e relativização da identidade individual e cultural, pelo fato dessas identidades sofrerem questionamentos ou o constante confronto com outras culturas. Na obra analisada, indígenas isolados, quando mencionados, não demonstraram conflitos idenitários.

This study addressed the recent Brazilian indigenous literature. By appropriating the portuguese language writing, brazilian natives have been using it both as keeper of the memory of indigenous groups and a channel of communication outside these societies. Therefore, this study aimed on analyzing texts of the indigenous author Daniel Munduruku, included in this work indian stories, available for indigenous and non-indigenous society, in order to verify the implicit and explicit messages in these texts. Thus, it was elected the technique of content analysis, whose execution occurred after contextualizations about identities seeking to identify the relation between the production of indigenous literature, the reading and training, and the reformulation of cultural identities of their own. With the content analysis it was concluded that manifestations on conflicts of personal and cultural identity materialize themselves in indigenous literature converging to a relation of cultural hybridity, since they consist of combinations between the stereotype, maintenance and relativization of individual and cultural identity, by the fact that these identities suffer from questionings or the constant confrontation with other cultures. In the analyzed work, isolated indians, when mentioned, did not show identitarian conflicts.
