O envelhecimento da população está sendo observado nas últimas décadas com o aumento da expectativa de vida, gerando a necessidade de espaços para oferecimento de atividades, tais como de práticas corporais. Porém, nem sempre há grande adesão e participação dos idosos, mesmo que haja muitas informações e que grande parte da população já conheça os benefícios da atividade física. Assim, o objetivo deste estudo é investigar a relação entre as práticas corporais que os idosos realizaram na sua infância, com a inserção deles atualmente em práticas corporais. O estudo é do tipo qualitativo. A amostra do estudo foi composta por 87 participantes de um projeto de extensão da EsEF/UFRGS direcionado ao público idoso. Como instrumento utilizou-se um questionário sobre a experiência desses idosos em práticas corporais durante todas as fases da vida, desde a infância até os dias de hoje. A análise de conteúdo foi utilizada como técnica. Os resultados indicaram as seguintes categorias na primeira questão: “brincadeiras/jogos/passatempo”, “educação física escolar”, “atividades culturais-físico-esportivas”, “deslocamento e trabalho”, “nenhuma prática corporal”. Na segunda questão foram: “CELARI”, “esportes”, “práticas corporais sistematizadas”, “caminhada”, “outros” e “não compreendeu”. Através dos resultados é possível inferir que as práticas corporais realizadas pelos idosos durante a infância, interferiram na escolha de estar ativo fisicamente na velhice. ...

The aging population is being observed in recent decades with the increase in life expectancy, creating the need for spaces to offering activities such as bodily practices. However, there is not always large membership and participation of the elderly, even though there is a lot of information and that much of the population already know the benefits of physical activity. The objective of this study is to investigate the relationship between bodily practices that seniors performed in its infancy, with the insertion of them currently in bodily practices. The type of this study is qualitative. The study sample consisted of 87 participants of an extension project EsEF / UFRGS on target elderly. As an instrument it was used a questionnaire on the experience of the elderly in bodily practices during all phases of life from childhood to the present day. The results indicated the following categories in the first question: "play/ games/ hobby", "physical education", "cultural activities, physical and sports", "travel and work" and finally, "no body practice". The other issue, used the following categorization "CELARI", "sports", "bodily practices systematized", "walk", "other" and "not understood". From the results it can be inferred that the body practices performed by the elderly during childhood influenced the choice to be physically active in old age. ...
