As representações do bibliotecário no seriado The Middle

Abstract

Apresenta uma análise sobre a representação do bibliotecário no seriado cômico norte americano The Middle. Aborda através de uma metodologia qualitativa o imaginário como sistema de ideias e imagens de representação coletiva, a valoração, como expressão da consciência coletiva e o método da montagem cinematográfica através de Willi Bolle (1994) e Sergei Eisenstein (2002) como método que justapõe fragmentos, formando uma imagem que incorpora o tema. Teve como objetivo identificar as representações do profissional da informação e relacionar com a teoria da montagem por justaposição. Estabelece um corpus específico para a análise através de dois episódios selecionados do seriado. Aplica os conceitos citados aos episódios e discorre acerca da representação do bibliotecário no contexto do tema trabalhado. Expõe como a comunicação de massa pode influenciar no ponto de vista do espectador e o quão importante isto é para a profissão de bibliotecário. Reproduz os diálogos e discursos presentes nos frames selecionados a fim de melhor entendimento do leitor.

Presents an analysis of the representation of the librarian in the North American sitcom The Middle. Addresses, through a qualitative methodology as the imaginary system of ideas and images of collective representation, valuation, as an expression of the collective consciousness and the method of montage by Willi Bolle (1994) and Sergei Eisenstein (2002) as a method that juxtaposes fragments forming an image that embodies the theme. Had to identify the representations of the professional of information and relate with the theory of montage by juxtaposition. Establishes a specific corpus for analysis by two selected episodes of the show. Applies the concepts mentioned on episodes and talks about the representation of the librarian in the context of the worked theme. Exposes how the mass media can influence the viewer's point of view and how important it is for the librarian profession. Reproduces the dialogues and discourses present in the selected frames to better understanding of the reader.
