Arte e escola : Relações do público escolar com a arte contemporânea e possíveis estratégias de aproximação

Abstract

O presente trabalho discute o lugar das artes visuais na educação formal, por meio da vivência com estudantes das séries finais do Ensino Fundamental de uma escola da rede pública estadual de ensino, situada na zona central de Porto Alegre. A pesquisa se desenvolveu conjuntamente à disciplina de Estágio em Artes Visuais, e tem como principal objetivo pensar estratégias de aproximação do público escolar em relação à arte, mais especificamente à arte contemporânea. Para tanto, foram realizadas atividades de sondagem, visando conhecer as ideias deste público sobre o tema em questão; na sequência, foram elaboradas algumas propostas de ensino/aprendizagem, buscando estimular ou incrementar esse contato. A investigação, portanto, pauta-se no convívio, na proposição de alternativas, na realização de atividades mobilizadoras e na reflexão a partir dos resultados obtidos.

The present study discusses the position of the visual arts in formal education, through experience with students from the final grades of middle school in a state public school, situated in the central zone of Porto Alegre. The research was developed in conjunction with the Visual Arts Training, and has as main objective to think of strategies to approach the students in relation to art school, more specifically to contemporary art. To this end, probing activities were conducted, to determine the ideas of the public on the issue at hand, and then, some teaching/learning proposals have been prepared trying to stimulate or increase this contact. Therefore, the investigation is based on the interaction, in proposing alternatives, in carrying out activities, mobilizing and reflection from the results obtained.
