Este estudo buscou verificar o comportamento de risco e retorno de uma amostra de ações das empresas que compõem os segmentos especiais de listagem da BM&FBOVESPA comparadas a uma amostra de ações das empresas listadas no Mercado Tradicional. Este estudo buscou verificar o comportamento de risco e retorno de uma amostra de ações das empresas que compõem os segmentos especiais de listagem da BM&FBOVESPA comparadas a uma amostra de ações das empresas listadas no Mercado Tradicional. Para tal, foram criadas quatro carteiras com amostras de ações de cada segmento da BM&FBOVESPA e, destas ações, foram coletadas as cotações de fechamento de 2005 a 2010. Com base nestes dados, foram calculados os retornos médios, desvios padrão e betas destas carteiras, com séries de curto e longo prazo distribuídas antes, durante e após a crise internacional de 2008, tendo como ponto de referência a falência do banco de investimentos norte americano Lehman Brothers, em 15 de setembro de 2008. Os resultados obtidos foram comparados entre si possibilitando a obtenção de conclusões. Verificou-se que as ações da amostra de empresas listadas no Novo Mercado possuem o menor risco, porém, também o menor retorno, seguido pelas ações da amostra de empresas do Nível 1. Os piores resultados observados vieram da amostra de empresas do Nível 2, com riscos superiores e retornos inferiores à amostra de ações do Mercado Tradicional. ...
