This paper had as main objective the development of a “dashboard” of marketing metrics appropriated to evaluate the return on investment in advertising in a magazine, which is part of the communication plan of a company from the furniture accessories’ industry. The exploratory qualitative study was conducted by means of the content analysis of the theoretical framework and of the interview with the company’s Commercial Director. The analysis of the interview revealed that the company makes use of some marketing metrics, but do not relates it to other metrics that may contribute to the evaluation of the return on investment. By return on investment it is meant not only financial return, but mostly qualitative result, as for an example, regarding products and brand awareness. Thus, the author proposes a “dashboard” of 25 marketing metrics, segmented according to Farris et al. (2007), which can be used by the company to assess the return of this investment. Among these 26 metrics, are strongly recommended metrics related to the categories of Share of Hearts, Minds and Markets and Advertising Media Metrics, since they respond directly to the objective of the company’s investment in advertising. Finally, this research comes to the conclusion that no single metric indicated can be analyzed alone, but it represents a part of a whole and must be compared and correlated with other metrics in order to obtain an accurate assessment of the company’s return on investment in advertising. ...
