Leitura e empoderamento, um caminho

Abstract

Este trabalho busca mostrar a importância da leitura como instrumento para o incentivo ao empoderamento feminino, como alternativa para as escolhas, oportunidades e igualdade de gênero. A prática de empoderamento, atrelado ao poder da leitura, gera transformações na sociedade, inserindo conhecimento e autonomia. Para compreensão, a pesquisa é bibliográfica, qualitativa e exploratória, com o fundamento sobre o empoderamento, seguido pelo conceito de mediação de leitura e como o bibliotecário, em seu fazer, apresenta literaturas pertinentes para o fortalecimento feminino. Os resultados foram obtidos atendendo aos objetivos específicos de estabelecer a importância da leitura como base para o empoderamento feminino, descrever as ações desenvolvidas por bibliotecas e bibliotecários na promoção do empoderamento feminino, identificar bibliografias que tratam do empoderamento feminino e analisar as iniciativas utilizadas pelas bibliotecas quanto ao objetivo, metodologia, atividade exercida pelos bibliotecários, Objetivos do Desenvolvimento Sustentável da agenda 2030 e resultados. As ações desenvolvidas por bibliotecários e bibliotecas são condizentes com o objetivo 5 da ODS, de “Alcançar a igualdade de gênero e empoderar todas as mulheres e meninas”. Assim, conclui-se que a leitura, representa a possibilidade de adquirir conhecimento, agregar valores terapêuticos através da biblioterapia e elevar a estima das mulheres participantes dos projetos, mostrando-se efetiva no sentido promover a leitura como forma de interação social, pessoal e afetiva, resgatando a dignidade de mulheres e revelando novas possibilidades através do conhecimento e do reconhecimento.

This work seeks to show the importance of reading as an instrument to encourage female empowerment as an alternative for choices, opportunities and gender equality. The practice of empowerment, linked to the power of reading, generates transformations in society, introducing knowledge and autonomy. For understanding, the research is bibliographic, qualitative and descriptive, based on empowerment, followed by the concept of reading mediation and how the librarian, in his work, presents literature relevant to female empowerment. The results were obtained meeting the specific objectives of establishing the importance of reading as a basis for female empowerment, describing the actions developed by libraries and librarians to promote female empowerment, identifying bibliographies that deal with female empowerment and analyzing the initiatives used by libraries regarding the objective, methodology, activity carried out by librarians, Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 agenda and results. The actions developed by librarians and libraries are consistent with SDG goal 5, “Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls”. Thus, it is concluded that reading represents the possibility of acquiring knowledge, adding therapeutic values through bibliotherapy and raising the esteem of women participating in projects, proving to be effective in promoting reading as a form of social, personal and affective interaction, rescuing the dignity of women and revealing new possibilities through knowledge and recognition.
