Festival hípico noturno de Porto Alegre : os primórdios de um evento equestre na cidade

Abstract

O presente estudo histórico trata do Festival Hípico Noturno (FHN) realizado na sede do Quarto Regimento de Polícia Montada da Brigada Militar em Porto Alegre. O objetivo da pesquisa é descrever os primórdios do FHN desde a primeira edição no ano de 1960, até meados da década de 1980, quando o evento passa por mudanças. As informações para dar conta do objetivo foram extraídas de documentos da Brigada Militar, tais como Boletins Internos, revistas e site da Brigada Militar, assim como de jornais, revistas e sites que enfocam o esporte hípico na esfera nacional e internacional. Constatou-se que a Brigada Militar criou o FHN com o intuito de promover a interação entre os cavalarianos militares e civis, e também para marcar a inauguração da carriérie (pista) noturna. Ainda na década de 1960 o evento foi incorporado ao calendário oficial das comemorações do aniversário da Brigada Militar, ocorrendo, ininterruptamente, até os dias atuais. Por fim, cabe destacar que o FHN é o evento hípico noturno mais antigo do Brasil.

The present historical study is about the Nocturnal Show Jumping Festival (NSJF) performed in the headquarters of Fourth Regiment of Mounted Police in Porto Alegre. The research’s aim is to describe the beginnings of the NSJF since the first edition in the year of 1960, until the middle of the 1980’s, when the event passes through changes. The information to account the aim were extracted from Military Brigade’s documents, such as Intern Bulletins, magazines and Military Brigade website; newspapers, magazines and websites that focus the show jumping sport in international and national sphere. It was verified that Military Brigade has created the NSJF with the intention of promoting the interaction between military and civil horseman, and also to mark the inauguration of the nocturnal carriére (track). In the 1960’s yet, the event was incorporated to the official calendar of the Military Brigade anniversary commemorations, occurring, uninterruptedly, until the present days. Eventually, it’s featured that the NSJF is the oldest nocturnal show jumping event of Brazil.
