O que os estudos sobre a aquisição devem a Benveniste

Abstract

Este artigo busca demarcar a contribuição de Émile Benveniste aos estudos sobre a aquisição da linguagem. Para tanto, caracteriza–em suas semelhanças e em suas diferenças –três propostas que, à luz da teoria da linguagem benvenistiana, investigam a constituição da criança como falante e como escrevente em sua língua materna. O percurso comparativo leva à conclusão de que as três propostas, porum lado, dão testemunho de uma produção linguística original no Brasil no âmbito tanto dos estudos benvenistianos quanto dos estudos aquisicionais e, por outro lado, atestam a fertilidade do pensamento de Benveniste como solo teórico sobre o qual podem florescer potentes perspectivas de investigação da linguagem humana.

This article seeks to outline Émile Benveniste's contribution to language acquisition studies. To do so, it characterizes three proposals considering their similarities and their differences. These proposals, in light of Benveniste's theory of language, investigate the constitution of the child as a speaker and as a writer in their native language. The comparative path leads to the conclusion that, on the one hand, the three proposals evidence an original linguistic production in Brazil in the scope of both studies on Benveniste and on language acquisition; and, on the other hand, they attest to the fertility of Benveniste's thinking as a theoretical background where powerful prospects for the investigation of human language may flourish.
