Esta pesquisa procurou identificar políticas públicas arquivísticas a partir dos registros dos apenados nos estabelecimentos penais do Rio Grande do Sul, os quais estão divididos em 10 regiões ou Delegacias Penitenciárias Regionais. O objetivo geral desta pesquisa foi identificar se existem políticas públicas arquivísticas a partir dos registros dos apenados em estabelecimentos prisionais do Estado do Rio Grande do Sul, e os objetivos específicos foram compreender como os estabelecimentos penais efetuam os registros dos apenados e quais documentos são produzidos, recebidos e/ou acumulados referentes a essas pessoas, entender como são armazenados e preservados os documentos; entender como se dá o acesso a essa documentação, ou a parte dela, por terceiros; e identificar se existe legislação específica para estabelecimentos prisionais do Rio Grande do Sul relacionada à gestão documental. Este é um trabalho realizado através de pesquisa exploratória de cunho quali-quantitativo, em que se adotou como procedimentos de coleta de dados, a pesquisa documental, envio de questionários via e-mail para todos os estabelecimentos penais do Rio Grande do Sul e entrevistas não estruturadas. Dentre os resultados da pesquisa destacamos que dos 113 estabelecimentos apenas dezessete responderam à pesquisa, e a partir da análise dos dados observou-se que apesar do que traz a LAI quanto ao acesso às informações obtivemos um retorno muito baixo. ...

This research sought to identify archival public policies in penal establishments in Rio Grande do Sul, which are divided into 10 regions or Regional Penitentiary Police Stations. This research sought to identify archival public policies in penal establishments in Rio Grande do Sul, which are divided into 10 regions or Regional Penitentiary Police Stations. The general objective of this research was to identify if there are archival public policies in the archives of convicts in prisons in the State of Rio Grande do Sul, and the specific objectives were to understand how penal establishments carry out the records of convicts and which documents are produced, received and /or accumulated referring to these people, understand how documents are stored and preserved; understand how access to this documentation, or part of it, is given by third parties; and identify whether there is specific legislation for prisons in Rio Grande do Sul related to document management. This is a work carried out through exploratory research of a quali-quantitative nature, in which data collection procedures were adopted, documental research, sending questionnaires via e-mail to all penal establishments in Rio Grande do Sul and interviews not structured. Among the survey results, we highlight that of the 113 establishments, only seventeen responded to the survey, and from the data analysis it was observed that despite what the LAI brings regarding access to information, we obtained a very low return. ...
