Os jogos de linguagem são fregiientemente considerados um desafio especial para tradutores bem como para os Estudos da Tradução. No presente trabalho, um tipo de jogo de linguagem, o spoonerismo inglês, o seu equivalente em francês, a “contrepêterie”, bem como uma de suas representações institucionalizadas na literatura, o “Schiittelreim” alemão, serão discutidos em termos de sua traduzibilidade inicial, por um lado, e seu comportamento real em situações reais de tradução, por outro. Os jogos de linguagem são fregiientemente considerados um desafio especial para tradutores bem como para os Estudos da Tradução. No presente trabalho, um tipo de jogo de linguagem, o spoonerismo inglês, o seu equivalente em francês, a “contrepêterie”, bem como uma de suas representações institucionalizadas na literatura, o “Schiittelreim” alemão, serão discutidos em termos de sua traduzibilidade inicial, por um lado, e seu comportamento real em situações reais de tradução, por outro. Será dada atenção especial à função humorística de tais jogos de linguagem, já que ela é normalmente percebida como parte essencial dos jogos de linguagem como tais, além de sua função evidente de colocar o foco sobre a expressão em si, uma função que ficou conhecida (não muito claramente) como função “poética” no estudo de Roman Jakobson, “Lingiistica e Poética”. ...
