Decoronação em casos de traumatismo dentoalveolar : revisão de literatura

Abstract

Lesões traumáticas dentárias são muito frequentes em indivíduos jovens. Elas podem acometer tanto estruturas de sustentação do dente quanto a estrutura dentária propriamente dita. A anquilose é uma complicação comum quando o ligamento periodontal é danificado. Em pacientes jovens pode levar a infraoclusão e inclinação dos dentes vizinhos, causando um dano estético e funcional. A extração de um dente anquilosado leva a considerável perda óssea. A decoronação é uma técnica que preserva as dimensões do processo alveolar, favorecendo o tratamento reabilitador subsequente com implantes em pacientes em crescimento. O objetivo deste estudo foi analisar os relatos da literatura relacionados à utilização da técnica de decoronação, identificando fatores relacionados à indicação, ao diagnóstico, procedimentos clínicos e proservação. Foi utilizada a base de dados MEDLINE (PUBMED). Dois pesquisadores conduziram a extração de dados. Quatorze artigos foram considerados elegíveis e foram coletados dados referentes ao diagnóstico, tratamento e proservação. Decoronação é uma técnica segura e preserva a altura da crista alveolar.

Traumatic dental injuries are common in young people. They can affect both tooth support structures and the dental structure itself. Ankylosis is a common complication when the periodontal ligament is damaged. In young patients it can lead to infraocclusion and tilting of adjacent teeth, causing aesthetic and functional damage. Extraction of an ankylosed tooth leads to considerable bone loss. Decoronation is a technique that preserves the dimensions of the alveolar process, facilitating the subsequent rehabilitation treatment with implants in growing patients. The aim of this study was to analyze the reports in the literature related to the use of the decoronation technique, identifying factors related to the indication, diagnosis, clinical procedures and follow-up period. The MEDLINE (PUBMED) database was used. Two researchers conducted the data extraction. Fourteen articles were considered eligible and data related to diagnosis, treatment and preservation were collected. Decoronation is a safe technique and preserves the height of the alveolar crest.
