Morte, memória, esquecimento e inteligência artificial : novas perspectivas sobre a morte a partir da experiência de criação e reprodução digital da sul-coreana Na-Yeon

Abstract

O presente trabalho aborda os possíveis efeitos na relação humana com a morte a partir do impacto das tecnologias digitais. Para isso, foi desenvolvido um breve resumo sobre as diversas formas que a humanidade encontrou para lidar com a morte e o sentimento de perda ao longo da história. Esse breve relato possui ênfase temporal entre os séculos XIX e XXI e tenta buscar alguns pontos importantes no pensamento a respeito da espiritualidade, perspectiva de continuação da vida após a morte e tentativa de encontrar consolo buscando alternativas religiosas e tecnológicas. Também foi evidenciado algumas experiências digitais que permitiram a criação e reprodução de hologramas de pessoas falecidas ou que se encontram no fim da vida. O principal caso abordado neste trabalho é sobre a criação e reprodução digital com uso da Inteligência Artificial que envolveu a pequena Na-Yeon, garota sul-coreana que faleceu aos 7 anos. Tendo esse caso em vista, foi proposto um diálogo com diversos autores de diferentes áreas do conhecimento, inclusive História, a fim de desenvolver as prováveis consequências dessa experiência digital no âmbito da memória e do esquecimento.

This work addresses the possible effects on the human relationship with death from the impact of digital technologies. For this, a brief summary of the different ways that humanity has found to deal with death and the feeling of loss throughout history was developed. This brief report has a temporal emphasis between the 19th and 21st centuries and tries to seek important points in thinking about spirituality, perspective of continuing life after death and trying to find solace by seeking religious and technological alternatives. Some digital experiences that allowed the creation and reproduction of holograms of deceased people or those who are at the end of life were also highlighted. The main case addressed in this work is about the digital creation and reproduction using Artificial Intelligence, which involved the little Na-Yeon, a South Korean girl who died at the age of 7 years. With this case in mind, a dialogue was proposed with several authors from different areas of knowledge, including History, in order to develop the likely consequences of this digital experience in the realm of memory and forgetting.
