Fatores explicativos do nível de sustentabilidade das instituições hospitalares brasileiras acreditadas

Abstract

O objetivo deste estudo consistiu em analisar os fatores explicativos do nível de sustentabilidade das instituições hospitalares brasileiras acreditadas, com base no conceito do Triple Botton Line (TBL). Desta forma, esta pesquisa caracteriza-se como descritiva, documental e quantitativa. A amostra foi composta por 30 hospitais brasileiros acreditados nacionalmente e internacionalmente. Por meio de três checklists, com base nos indicadores do ISE e análise dos relatórios de sustentabilidade e de atividade, os resultados apontaram que 56,7% dos hospitais acreditados são sustentáveis economicamente, a maioria não são efetivamente sustentáveis na dimensão social e 66,7% são sustentáveis na dimensão ambiental. Conclui-se que os hospitais acreditados investigados não são sustentáveis nas três dimensões do TBL e, ainda, que o porte e o tempo de constituição da empresa são fatores que auxiliam na compreensão do nível de sustentabilidade das entidades analisadas.

The objective of this study was to analyze the explanatory factors of the sustainability level of accredited Brazilian hospital institutions, based on the Triple Botton Line (TBL) concept. In this way, this research is characterized as descriptive, documentary and quantitative. The sample consisted of 30 Brazilian hospitals accredited nationally and internationally. The results indicated that 56.7% of the accredited hospitals are economically sustainable, most of which are not effectively sustainable in the social dimension and 66.7% are sustainable in the environmental dimension. It is concluded that the accredited hospitals investigated are not sustainable in the three dimensions of TBL, and also that the size and time of incorporation of the company are factors that help in understanding the level of sustainability of the entities analyzed.
