dc.description.abstract	In this review paper we briefly recali some existing experimental and theoretical work on the magnetic properties, specific heat and transport properties of pure and pseudo ternary Heusler compounds. Previous existing theoretical descriptions of the electronic structure, magnetic moment formation, coupling between moments and magnetic order, together with some work developed by the Porto Alegre Transport Group, are presented and discussed.	en
