Resíduos volumosos no ambiente escolar : de problema às possibilidades

Abstract

Esta pesquisa teve como proposta investigar as informações disponíveis aos sujeitos (estudantes do ensino fundamental de 6º a 9º ano) sobre o manejo dos resíduos volumosos e como a temática é abordada em sala de aula pelo professor(a) de ciências da Escola Municipal de Ensino Fundamental Luiz Francisco Panni em Osório/RS. A investigação consiste num estudo de caso de caráter qualitativo. A fim de obter elementos que verifiquem se ocorre informações sobre o descarte de resíduos volumosos, analisando as ações interdisciplinares que são desenvolvidas a partir das aulas de ciências da natureza, identificando assim como é desenvolvido o processo de ensino e aprendizagem sobre os resíduos volumosos na educação ambiental. Como instrumento de coleta e análise de dados foi utilizado uma entrevista com a idealizadora do Projeto Jogue Limpo que visa pela sensibilização e conscientização da comunidade em geral do Município de Osório/RS e questionários mistos aplicados de forma remota a uma professora de Ciências da Natureza e a três estudantes dos Anos Finais do Ensino Fundamental da escola investigada. Entre os resultados obtidos foram apontadas, a necessidade de práticas para serem utilizadas nas aulas, e as problemáticas enfrentadas pela professora para desenvolver o processo de ensino e aprendizagem sobre a temática dos resíduos volumosos. Apesar da ampla divulgação o Projeto Jogue Limpo não é capaz de modificar os hábitos do cidadão e se incluir integralmente no currículo escolar. Sendo necessário pensar em iniciativas de educação ambiental, junto a uma geração de sociedade futura com consciência crítica tanto em questões ambientais como em outras questões relacionadas ao consumo consciente.

This research had as proposal to investigate the information available to the subjects (elementary school students from 6th to 9th grade) about the management of bulky waste and how the theme is approached in the classroom by the science teacher of Luiz Francisco Panni Municipal Elementary School in Osório/RS. The investigation consists of a qualitative case study. In order to obtain elements that verify if information on the disposal of bulky waste occurs, analyzing the interdisciplinary actions that are developed from the classes of natural sciences, identifying as well as how the process of teaching and learning about bulky waste is developed in environmental education. As an instrument of data collection and analysis, was used an interview with the creator of the „Jogue Limpo” project which aims to increase the awareness of the general community in the city of Osório/RS and mixed questionnaires applied remotely to a teacher of Natural Sciences and three students of the Final Years of Elementary School of the investigated school. Among the results obtained were pointed out the need for practices to be used in classes, and the problems faced by the teacher to develop the teaching and learning process about bulky waste. Despite the large divulgation, the “Jogue Limpo” Project is not able to change the habits of the citizen and be fully included in the school curriculum. It is necessary to think about environmental education initiatives, together with a generation of future society with critical awareness both in environmental issues and in other issues related to conscious consumption.
