Anderson Valentin em favelagrafia : a comunidade do Borel e sua imagem, na luta contra o estereótipo da violência

Abstract

Este artigo trata da série dedicada à favela de Valentim, artista brasileiro morador do Morro do Borel, RJ, Brasil, integrante do coletivo Favelagrafia. Nele, Valentim retrata moradores do lugar e busca, através de uma poética pessoal, desconstruir o preconceito de que a favela carioca é um lugar de violência. O texto aborda a obra do artista, e reflete sobre a cultura e as produções criativas que são realizadas na área da fotografia e das imagem, em reflexão sobre o território e identidades, e sobre a atuação dos coletivos de criação.

This article deals with the series dedicated to Valentim’s favela, a Brazilian artist living in Morro do Borel, RJ, Brazil, member of the Favelagrafia collective. In it, Valentim portrays locals and seeks, through personal poetics, to deconstruct the prejudice that the Rio de Janeiro slum is a place of violence. The text addresses the artist’s work, and reflects on the culture and creative productions that are carried out in the area of photography and image, reflecting on the territory and identities, and on the performance of the creative collectives.
