Jardim Lindóia: nossa história, nossas memórias

Abstract

Este trabalho tem o objetivo de pesquisar como se deu a implantação do Bairro Jardim Lindóia, situado na zona norte de Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, desde o seu surgimento no início da década de 1950, até em torno de 1975. Analisa como era a região no passado recente, sua transformação, as mudanças ocorridas e que continuam ocorrendo no bairro com a substituição de suas antigas moradias pelos edifícios e casas comerciais e qual o impacto desta verticalização para seus mais antigos moradores. Foram realizadas entrevistas semiestruturadas com os moradores mais antigos do bairro e seus descendentes, além da análise de fotos e recordações ao longo de sua permanência naquele local. Inclui revisão bibliográfica sobre a história da cidade e do bairro; pesquisa em fontes documentais em algumas instituições de forma a reconstruir a história do bairro e a execução de levantamentos de campo com registros fotográficos, de plantas e mapas. O embasamento teórico do trabalho utiliza os conceitos de lugar, bairro, memórias e memória social, dialogando com diversos autores: Milton Santos, Henri Lefebvre, Michel De Certeau e Pierre Mayol, Pierre Nora e Krzysztof Pomian e Maurice Halbwachs. Ressalta que apesar de muitas mudanças terem ocorrido na tipologia e nos hábitos do bairro e vários daqueles primeiros moradores já terem se afastado do convívio dos vizinhos antigos, ainda levam na memória a lembrança dos anos iniciais do ambiente e sua convivência no lugar. Conclui que os bairros tendem a se transformar a medida em que crescem e os hábitos e as relações de vizinhança a se alterar se não houver fortalecimento daquele vínculo afetivo e de pertencimento entre seus habitantes com o lugar.

This paper aims to investigate how the neighborhood JardimLindóia located in the northern area of Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, was implanted from its inception in the early 1950s until around 1975. It also analyzes how was the region in the recent past, its transformations, the changes that have taken place and continue to occur in the neighborhood with the replacement of its former homes by buildings and commercial houses and what impact this vertical integration has on its older residents. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with the oldest residents of the neighborhood and their descendants as well as the analysis of photos and memories during their stay in that place. This study includes literature review on the history of the city and the neighborhood; research in documents sources in some institutions in order to reconstruct the history of the neighborhood and perform field surveys with photographic, plant and map records. The theoretical basis of the work uses the concepts of place, neighborhood, memories and social memory, dialoguing with several authors: Milton Santos, Henri Lefebvre, Michel De Certeau and Pierre Mayol, Pierre Nora and Krzysztof Pomian and Maurice Halbwachs. Although many changes have occurred in the typology and habits of the neighborhood and several of those early residents have already moved away, they still remember the early years of the environment and their living in the place. It concludes that the neighborhoods tend to change as they grow and neighborhood habits and relationship change if there is no strengthening of that affective and belonging bond between its inhabitants and the place.
