Revisão de literatura : fraturas mandibulares

Abstract

As fraturas mandibulares são as fraturas faciais mais frequentes em humanos, isso leva a uma grande importância em saber realizar um tratamento seguro e adequado aos pacientes. Além disso, se pode perceber uma grande predileção pelo sexo masculino, variando entre estudos o valor, porém sempre mantendo essa tendência. Atualmente existe um relativo consenso em relação aos tratamentos de fraturas mandibulares. Porém um grupo dessas fraturas, as de côndilo, ainda existe muita discussão sobre qual o melhor método de tratamento, e se pode notar uma diferença entre os métodos mais aceitos entre os estudos, principalmente entre trabalhos com distantes épocas de publicação. Esse trabalho tem como objetivo fazer uma revisão de literatura sobre fraturas mandibulares, explicando a anatomia dessa região, sua etiologia, sua epidemiologia assim como suas formas de tratamento cirúrgico e conservadores. Realizando uma análise geral e atual, para facilitar a escolha de tratamento dessas ocorrências.

Mandibular fractures are the most frequent facial fractures in humans, this leads to great importance in knowing how to perform a safe and appropriate treatment for patients. In addition, it is possible to perceive a great predilection for the masculine sex, varying between studies the value, but always maintaining this tendency. Currently there is a relative consensus regarding the treatment of mandibular fractures, but a group of these fractures, condyle, there is still much discussion about the best method of caring for the fracture, and it is possible to notice a difference between the studies, mainly between works with distant times of publication. This paper aims to review the literature on mandibular fractures, explaining the anatomy of this region, its etiology, its epidemiology, as well as its surgical and conservative treatment modalities. Performing a general and current analysis, to facilitate the correct treatment of these occurrences.
