| pt_BR |
dc.description.abstract | In this paper, we describe the use of a simulation program in a subject of General Chemistry from a Chemistry course from the Universidade Luterana do Brasil – ULBRA. The software DICEWIN is employed in basic research in chemistry and it is being adapted for it use in classroom. Our objective for its use in the General Chemistry is to facilitate the students’ modeling processes and the visualization of the microscopic behavior of solutions, in order to construct the concepts involved in intermolecular forces. By performing a pair distribution function analysis of the solvation of Na+, Cl- and Ar in water, it is shown that it is feasible to explain the differences in solvation for these differently charged solutes. Preliminary results seem to show that the students involved in the experience have a considerable gain with the use of this teaching strategy, specially in the representation of the kinetic-molecular behavior of the discussed systems and in the use of multiple representations for it. | en |
