The Cost-Volume-Profit Analysis is a technique that makes it possible to measure the impacts caused by changes in production volumes on costs, revenues and profits of companies. Its relevance is evidenced by its contribution in the understanding of cost behavior patterns, which promotes clarifications necessary to improve planning and control of activities. The objective of this study was to identify the result of a Cost-Volume-Profit Analysis in a company that manufactures customized products for smartphones. For that, a quantitative and descriptive research was used, using as technical procedure the case study. The object of empirical research corresponded to a medium-sized company, manufacturer of covers and other customized products for smartphones, located in the city of Porto Alegre / RS, with more than eight years of experience in the market. Through the application of the CostVolume-Profit Analysis, it was identified that among the product mix that the company offers, the covers (81.58%) correspond to the highest total contribution margin, followed by the films and accessories, with 69.01% and 12.84%, respectively. Given the strong consumer market, and, consequently, significant sales volume, for the existence of break-even point, the production of covers must be higher than the production of the other products. The findings are discussed with the results of other empirical investigations and emphasize the relevance of the use of this accounting tool to support the process of decision making. ...
