O presente artigo resulta de uma pesquisa que aborda a temática competências gerenciais, especificamente competências gerencias de gestores de Recursos Humanos. O presente artigo resulta de uma pesquisa que aborda a temática competências gerenciais, especificamente competências gerencias de gestores de Recursos Humanos. Trata-se de um estudo de caso realizado na Caixa Econômica Federal, instituição financeira centenária, de grande porte e de abrangência nacional. Os sujeitos da pesquisa são gestores de recursos humanos do estado do Rio Grande do Sul, e os dados foram coletados através de fontes documentais e entrevistas individuais semidirigidas. A análise dos dados seguiu orientações para a Análise de Conteúdo, e buscou identificar as competências que os gestores de Recursos humanos (RH) alocados nas áreas de RH da CAIXA no estado do Rio Grande do Sul, percebem como suas e compará-las com as competências gerenciais requeridas pela empresa. Os resultados apontam para algumas considerações acerca de como as competências gerenciais foram se reconfigurando ao longo da história da CAIXA, o que se mostra importante à compreensão da atual configuração das competências. Especificamente em relação à área de Recursos Humanos, mudou o perfil traçado para o gestor, e mudaram, efetivamente, as características do gestor que se apresenta como um profissional versátil, com múltiplos e variados papéis. ...
