A violonista e etnomusicóloga Luciana Prass rememora suas primeiras lembranças musicais, ainda no contexto familiar, em Cachoeira do Sul, e refletiu sobre sua trajetória marcada pela intersecção entre as tradições musicais erudita e popular, além de compartilhar com o ouvinte suas experiências etnográficas em escola de samba e entre quilombolas.
Luciana Prass é Bacharel em Violão, Mestre em Educação Musical e Doutora em Etnomusicologia pela UFRGS. Hoje, é professora adjunta do Departamento de Música do Instituto de Artes da UFRGS, atuando nas áreas de arranjo, improvisação e prática musical em conjunto. Como musicista e arranjadora, Luciana participou da Camerata Consort de Violões, do Conjunto de Câmara de Porto Alegre, do grupo Corta-Jaca e da banda Maria Vai Com as Outras. Desde 1993, tem também trabalhado como compositora de trilhas sonoras e sonoplastia para teatro e vídeo. Como pesquisadora, se dedica ao estudo das músicas de tradição afro-brasileira.
