As células-tronco mesenquimais (MSCs – Mesenchymal Stem Cells) são células multipotentes presentes em uma grande variedade de tecidos. As células-tronco mesenquimais (MSCs – Mesenchymal Stem Cells) são células multipotentes presentes em uma grande variedade de tecidos. As MSCs são capazes de se diferenciar em diversos tipos celulares, como adipócitos, condrócitos e osteoblastos. Esse trabalho avaliou o efeito da morina, um flavonoide com diversas atividades biológicas e bioquímicas, sobre as funções biológicas das células-tronco derivadas de dentes decíduos esfoliados humanos (SHEDs - Stem Cells from Human Exfoliated Deciduos Teeth) e das células-tronco derivadas de tecido adiposo (ADSCs - Adipose Tissue Derived Stem Cells). As MSCs foram isoladas, caracterizadas e tratadas com morina por dois dias, para avaliar a viabilidade, e por 15 dias, para avaliar o efeito da morina no potencial de diferenciação. A morina, nas concentrações de 50, 75, 100, 125, 150 e 175μg/mL, promoveu um aumento na viabilidade das SHED. Quando as ADSCs foram avaliadas, a viabilidade celular aumentou nas células tratadas com morina, nas concentrações de 100, 125, 150 e 175μg/mL. A morina também foi capaz de diminuir o potencial de diferenciação das ADSCs, quando adicionada ao meio de diferenciação osteogênico.
