Criação de abelhas nativas sem ferrão (meliponicultura) no município de Vista Gaúcha

Abstract

Este trabalho de conclusão de curso tem o intuito de trazer informações sobre a meliponicultura, criação de abelha sem ferrão, em um estudo de caso do município de Vista Gaúcha, tendo como objetivo geral compreender como está o desenvolvimento da atividade de meliponicultura no Município de Vista Gaúcha. Como objetivos específicos busca-se: i) identificar os motivos que levam os agricultores a criar abelhas sem ferrão; ii) identificar as espécies criadas por eles e as razões destas escolhas; iii) avaliar quais destas espécies são nativas e adequadas ao clima do Município, bem como fazer uma breve revisão de literatura sobre aspectos socioeconômicos e ecológicos da criação destas espécies. A justificativa para a escolha do tema é a possibilidade de crescimento que esta atividade esta demonstrando no momento, também por ser um tema pouco explorado e por possibilitar uma alternativa de renda extra para a agricultura familiar. A metodologia para o desenvolvimento deste trabalho foi a de pesquisa de campo junto a seis meliponicultores do município de Vista Gaúcha, que foram escolhidos através de convite para participar do estudo. Com aplicação de um questionário com perguntas abertas e também fechadas. Os dados coletados foram analisados: i) de forma quantitativa, trazendo informações sobre a quantidade de colmeias existentes nos pequenos meliponário do nosso município, identificando quais as espécies criadas pelos meliponicultores; e, i) qualitativa buscando destacar quais os motivos que os levaram a iniciar esta criação. Concluiu-se ao termino desse trabalho que a meliponicultura está em crescimento no Município de Vista Gaúcha.

This work of course completion is intended to bring information about meliponiculture, stingless bee rearing, in a case study of the municipality of Vista Gaúcha, with the general objective of understanding how is the development of the activity of meliponicultura in the Municipality of Vista Gaucho. The specific objective is: i) To identify the reasons that lead farmers to create stingless bees; i) identify the species created by them and the reasons for these choices; i) to evaluate which of these species are native and suitable to the climate of the Municipality, as well as to make a brief review of the literature on socioeconomic and ecological aspects of the creation of these species. The justification for choosing the theme is the possibility of growth that this activity is showing at the moment, also because it is an unexplored topic and because it allows an alternative of extra income for family agriculture. The methodology for the development of this work was the one of field research together with six meliponicultores of the municipality of Vista Gaúcha, who were chosen by invitation to participate in the study. With application of a questionnaire with open and closed questions. The collected data were analyzed: i) quantitatively, providing information on the number of hives in the small meliponary of our municipality, identifying which species were created by the meliponicultores; and, ii) qualitative seeking to highlight the reasons that led them to start this creation. It was concluded at the end of this work that meliponicultura is growing in the Municipality of Vista Gaúcha.
