Percepção das mulheres que atuam na área rural do município de Santa Vitória do Palmar quanto à discriminação de gênero

Abstract

Gênero se refere à posição sociocultural que homens e mulheres ocupam e à forma a qual a sociedade distribui as regras e atribuições. Foi realizado um trabalho de caracterização e posterior levantamento a respeito da percepção das mulheres que trabalham no meio rural do município de Santa Vitória do Palmar-RS sobre a discriminação de gênero no desempenho de suas atividades profissionais. O município tem sua economia baseada na atividade agropecuária. Uma pesquisa quanti-qualitativa foi realizada, por meio de um questionário, aplicado a mulheres que desempenham atividades nesse ambiente, com o objetivo de verificar as dificuldades encontradas por elas no trabalho produtivo no meio rural. Elas são divididas em produtoras rurais, funcionárias de propriedades rurais e prestadoras de serviços no meio rural. Encontrou-se que a maioria das entrevistadas se sente valorizada na sua área de atuação e poucas vezes, em suas atividades no meio rural, são desvalorizadas por serem mulheres. Elas observam também não haver muito tratamento desigual nessas atividades.

Gender is referred as the social-cultural placement men and women have and the way society distributes rules and atributions. A study was realized in the characterization and, later an interview regarding the perception of women working in the rural environment of the municipality of Santa Vitória do Palmar-RS and the discrimination of gender in the development of their professional activities. The municipality has its economy based in the agricultural business. A quantitative and qualitative research was done by means of a questionnaire, applied to women that work on this environment, with the objective to verify the difficulties encountered by them in the productive work in agriculture. They are separated in rural producers, workers in properties and service providers in the sector. It was found that the majority of those interviewed find themselves valued within their activity areas, and seldomly within their rural activities are devalued for being females. They also observe that treatment commonly equal in these activities.
