Migrações internacionais contemporâneas em Porto Alegre: geografia escolar contra a xenofobia

Abstract

Este trabalho trata da questão das migrações internacionais contemporâneas na escala do espaço vivido portoalegrense pela ótica da Geografia escolar. O trabalho se propõe a refletir sobre o papel da Geografia escolar no combate à xenofobia, caracterizar migração e refúgio no contexto porto-alegrense e, finalmente, elaborar, realizar e analisar atividades de ensino sobre migrações e refúgio no contexto da escola de Ensino Médio. Isto ocorre através de um levantamento bibliográfico sobre o tema dialogando com atividades na sala de aula, através da realização e análise de oficina sobre Migrações Internacionais em uma escola estadual de ensino médio em Porto Alegre. Conclui-se que é necessário trabalhar esse tema na Geografia escolar, buscando conectar as aulas com a realidade vivida e buscando combater a desinformação, que é a origem da xenofobia.

This paper discusses contemporary international migrations in the scale of lived space at Porto Alegre from the perspective of scholar geography. It is a reflection on the role of school geography in the struggle against xenophobia, to characterize migration and refuge in the Porto Alegre context, and finally to elaborate, execute and analyze educational activities about migration and refuge in the context of the secondary school. This is done through a bibliographical survey about the theme, by discussing activities in the classroom, through analysis of a workshop on international migration in a public secondary school in Porto Alegre. It is concluded that it is necessary to work on this theme in scholar geography, trying to connect the lessons with the reality lived and seeking to combat disinformation, which is the origin of xenophobia.
